Director Hanna Elias Documentary on the Nobel Prize winner in Literature Naguib Mahfouz.
I wanted to show the world a great role model for us the Arabs. I red Mr. Mafouz novels during my secondary school years. Followed him in my academic years and now as a professional filmmaker.
I went last May/June 2006 and filmed Nagiub in his environment: his friends, people and his Cairo, just three months before his death.

The film will include Egyptian artists and celebrities who knew Naguib Mahfouz since the forties till today!  Also clips from movies based on his novels and scripts, including films made in the Arab world, Mexico and other countries.





Technical Data:
60 minutes, color. In English and Arabic.


Egyptian writer who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1988, and was the first Arabic writer to be so honored.
